Going Bananas – The November We Should Cocoa Challenge

Banana Chocolate Mousse

We Should Cocoa | 1st November 2015 | By

We Should Cocoa is well into its 6th year now and in all that time, we’ve never had bananas as the chosen ingredient to go with chocolate. That’s just bananas!

Thanks go to Tracy over at It’s Not Easy Being Greedy for ably hosting last month’s USA themed #WeShouldCocoa. Do head over there to take a look at all the delicious American inspired recipes you’ll find.

When it comes to banana and chocolate, the two ingredients complement each other well; the sweet aromatic flavour from the banana is offset by an almost umami note from the chocolate. So, mash those bananas and conch that chocolate! Only joking, you do whatever you see fit.

We Should Cocoa BadgeAnything goes as long as chocolate and bananas feature as main ingredients. Entries are via the linky below and need to be in by midnight GMT on 25th November. I will then post a full round-up before the end of the month. If you’re not sure what to do, check out the We Should Cocoa page.

To get you in the mood here are a few banana and chocolate combinations you might like

I think chocolate and bananas are a prefect match, thanks for linking up to my Chocolate and Banana Nut Loaf. Now I need to make something else with bananas and chocolate for this month’s We Should Cocoa.

I love chocolate and banana together. This has inspired me to go and make something. Just as well there’s always bananas and chocolate in this house!

I am wondering, have I made a mistake. I added by Chocolate Banoffee Pie, but now I am a little unsure. Should I have made something orginal.
    Best Wishes

I love baking with bananas and have often paired it with chocolate as it’s a great combination. Will have to see whether I can come up with something new!

Yes, the something new is a bit awkward Ros. Like you. I’m made loads already with that combination. BUT I’m sure inspiration will come to the rescue 😉

Ha! I already have ripening bananas on my counter that I was planning to bake with this week. Perfect! Chocolate and banana is one of our favorites.

Brilliant. Bananas and chocolate tend to be things cooks and bakers have hanging around in their house, so I’m crossing fingers for lots of entries.

The good thing about manky bananas is that they are so useful for cooking and baking. Hope you manage to join in Johanna.

Look at me I am an idiot! I haven’t done this linky thing before and I put my name instead of the cake’s name. Sorry!

Don’t worry Kath, it is by no means an uncommon mistake. It might intrigue and everyone will come rushing over to find out what it is!
