Goat’s cheese and chocolate may not be the most obvious of pairings, but it’s a good one. If you haven’t yet tried it, here are a few goat’s cheese and chocolate recipes to try. Some are sweet and some savoury, but they’re all delicious.
As some of you know, I’ve recently discovered the joys of combining goat’s cheese and chocolate. I’ve made several recipes over the last few months with this particular pairing and I’ve been pleased with all of them. I’m very keen to continue experimenting.
Thus it was, I put my blog forward for the Best Bleat Awards because the winner gets a year’s worth of Capricorn goats cheese. Now that’s too good an opportunity to miss.
Thank you so much to everyone who voted for my blog. Because of all you lovely people, my blog only went and won. Some goats cheese will shortly be winging its way in my direction. So now I need to come up with even more recipes.
Goat’s Cheese and Chocolate Recipes
The cheese and chocolate combination has so taken my fancy that I now have a Pinterest board dedicated to it. To see if I can entice you into my latest favourite thing, here follows some of the goats cheese and chocolate recipes I’ve come up with so far.
Goat’s Cheese & Chocolate Tarts
There’s no getting away from it, the best word to describe these chocolate goat’s cheese tarts is unctuous. Think molten dark chocolate mousse oozing with salty goat’s cheese in a wonderful flaky pastry case. If you like the combination of salt and sweet, you’re almost bound to like these.
Chocolate Shakshuka (Chocshuka)
A delicious adaptation of the classic Middle Eastern breakfast dish. This chocolate shakshuka replaces the poached eggs with goat’s cheese and there’s a little dark chocolate for extra depth and flavour. It works surprisingly well.
Beetroot & Walnut Brunch Muffins
Delicious and filling savoury beetroot muffins packed full of healthy ingredients including goat’s cheese, walnuts, olive oil and thyme. Options for the additions of carrot, wild garlic and even some surprise chocolate. They work brilliantly as a brunch meal or for an interesting and easy packed lunch. Perfect for picnics too.
Honeyed Fig & Goat’s Cheese Tart
This honeyed fig & goat’s cheese tart with walnuts & thyme is drizzled with homemade spiced chocolate balsamic vinegar. It makes for a great starter or light lunch when you don’t want to spend too much time on preparation. It looks quite impressive and tastes fantastic. You can make it as one large tart, as you can see here, or cut the pastry into squares or rectangles and serve as individual tarts.
Goat’s Cheese Chocolate Truffles
If you haven’t tried goat’s cheese chocolate truffles before you’re in for a surprising treat. They make a fitting end to a dinner party meal and will be much appreciated by any self respecting chocolate and cheese lover on any occasion.

Wow, a really interesting combination and I bet it does work (although also quite rich?) Cheese and chocolate – add a glass of wine and all of the major food groups are covered 😉

Thanks for your comment. It is a rich combination, especially the top cheese and chocolate tart and a little goes a long way, but it does indeed work very well.
